I received my undergraduate degree from Buffalo State College in Criminal Justice and worked for a number of years as a juvenile probation officer. Deciding that my early career choice had not been my true calling, I did a post-baccalaureate mathematics core at the University of Central Florida. I started teaching middle school and kept learning! I went on to teach high school and taking further math classes. Found out along the way that not only was I really good at math but loved it as well! I received my master’s degree in Statistics from UCF in 2000 and began teaching at the collegiate level.
Teaching a challenging academic subject in the community college environment was definitely where I was meant to be, it combines the counseling and empathy learned from my early career with the pure love of mathematics. I enjoy helping young people who are just starting on their academic journey, to people making career changes later in life.
Born and raised in upstate New York, I consider myself a “born again” Floridian. I love gardening in the summer in the middle of the day, the warmer the better! My husband and I have two great kids and we love to do things as a family like camping, biking and traveling.
