

Tommy Minton grew up in Winter Springs and is a graduate of
Oviedo High School. He earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from
Clemson
University and a Master of Science
degree in Statistics from Florida
State
University.
After leaving FSU in 1997, Tommy embarked on a career of teaching
college-level mathematics mostly at the community college level with a brief
interlude has a professional golfer on local mini-tours (one victory, some
second-places).
Tommy returned ‘home’ as a newlywed (his wife
is a graduate of Oviedo High School and UCF) in 2005 and began teaching at
Seminole State College as an adjunct professor before moving up to full-time
status in August 2006. After
teaching primarily at the Oviedo campus for many years, Tommy was offered and
accepted the position of Associate Dean, Mathematics in January 2012.
Outside of work Tommy enjoys playing golf,
spending time with his family, tabletop gaming, and watching Clemson/FSU/UCF
athletic events. He has 2 sons (one
born in April 2007 and the other in September 2009), two Chihuahuas, and one
cat.
