William Rickman was born and raised in Orlando and graduated from Boone High School where he played trumpet in the marching band. He did his undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Central Florida, receiving a Bachelors degree in Mathematics in 1988 and a Masters in Mathematical Sciences in 1992. As a graduate student he did research in fractals and began his teaching career at UCF as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Since coming to Seminole State he has taught almost every math course from Basic Algebra to Calculus II.
